After they’d got accustomed to their run for a couple of days, we thought we’d let the bantams out onto the grass for the first time. The cockerel was the boldest.
Followed, rather to my surprise, by the smooth Poland, and, less surprisingly, the rather bossy little Pekin.
Only then did we see the Hamburg (who I would have bet on to be first out), and the Wyandotte.
The Silkie and the frizzle Poland hung back, but they did eventually emerge.
