We put the chickens outside today for the first time. They went out mid-morning, and came back in at around 6 o’clock as it began to get chilly. Did they love it? You bet!
Their only shelter was an upturned wine box, and they were confined to a half-section of the run. We’re in process of preparing the run and deep-cleaning the house ready for them to take up residence. Everything has to be not just fox-proof but rat-proof too.
It’ll be daytime only until the nights are a bit warmer, but within a couple of weeks they’ll be outside full time.
